Fawns
We no longer rehabilitate fawns due to high costs, but we will offer advice as needed.
A mother deer will leave a fawn unattended for several hours (24+).
If you find a fawn alone this does not mean it needs to be rescued. Wait and observe from a far distance.
Fawns are very fragile and can die from the stress of capture.

Keep warm and quiet in a ventilated container and contact us immediately. Any information you can provide us about the animal will greatly improve its chance of survival.

Due to Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in North Carolina, fawns located in the surveillance areas designated by NCWRC absolutely CANNOT be rehabilitated or transported from their location.
